How do I go about becoming a registered nurse in the US, if i have a nursing degree from another country? |
I graduated with a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Philippines in 1999. I am not licensed in the Philippines, but I currently live in the US and I want to become a RN here. I have not had any nursing (clinical) experience since I was in school. When I came to the US, I worked in a different field of healthcare. What steps need to be taken in order for me to practice as a nurse here in the US? usually you have to take a bridge program before your qualified to work as a rn in the US. you would also have to take the NCLEX exam and CGFNS My understanding is that if you have not practiced in 5 years, your degree is no longer accepted. |
