Teacher Training courses?

I'm looking to do a teacher training course, for primary education. I wouldn't mind doing it in Scotland or the USA. I have a diploma in Nursing will this help me so I don't have to do it from scratch. How do I get in and where is the best place to study?

In Texas, if you already have a degree, you can apply for Alternative Certification. You'll have to take a few classes, but not as much as for a graduate program. The program I am in costs about $3500 and I'll be done in a year.

The Evergreen State College has a very good masters in teaching program which also gives you a certification. You can use some of your nursing degree to specialize in math or science and those are subjects needing teachers right now. Good luck.
