Nurse or teacher?

I am planning on going back to school in January. I am debating, I was planning on going back for my BS in elementary education, but would a RN be a better job and pay more?

An RN definetly pays more... much more. Both teachers and RNs are excellent choices if you want to help others, but RNs are in higher demand and make about $15,000 more a year on average.

RN is better i think. u earn more money and when u help people get better it makes u feel good.

Nurses work around the clock but make more on average. Your choice.

nurseing will have a higher demand in the future.

Where I live, they are constantly hiring nurses. And it pays extremely well. It seems all the teaching jobs are hard to get, even though they don't pay as much. Plus you have to deal with kids all day, and who needs that?? (I work with kids all day, and I don't even make a fraction of what teachers make, if that tells you anything.)

You pick:

RN - better pay, major stress, long working hours and in some cases harsh emotional working conditons. The cushy cream puff clinic jobs don't pay that well and are in high demand by the burned out hospital and nursing home RNs.

Teacher - lower pay, major stress, not so long working hours and in some cases harsh emotional working conditions. Summers off!!!

BOTH ARE VERY NOBLE JOBS TO SOCIETY

Yes Nursing is stressful but there are ways that you can work around that and that is to go through a agency where you work your own hours. Pay for RN 40-50 dollars a hour depending on where you live.
