Can you give me some tips on improving my study habits? coz i failed in my major subject..=(?

i am a nursing student and i do not want this course. but my auntie who's supporting my education wanted to pursue this course...:(

Without wanting to give you advice on whether you should continue doing this course, here is advice from a 1st Class Student from a red brick University (UK)

1. Try to enjoy what your doing. i.e. focus on the fun side of the subject - Your stuck doing this course for a couple of years, like a sibling. You have two choices, you hate it, and it will be two years of misery. Or you really try to get along, and maybe it will be two years of not so bad.

2. Make good notes - Note taking is very important. A really good method for taking notes is the Cornell Method. See Source 1 for more info on this.

3. Keep good company - Hang around with those people on your course who actually enjoy the course and work hard. The company you keep is a reflection of you and your studies.

4. Work Hard! Not much more I can say on that.

Hope that helps!

You shouldn't be going down a path you didn't willingly choose. Ask yourself if you really want to be a nurse. If not, that's not the end of the world. Pick something you like, and then explain to your 'auntie'. You can't force your brain to study something you don't like. Medical classes are boring unless you actually have the drive to go that route.

Tell your auntie how you feel about it. She should understand, but if not then T.S. for her because if you are only doing this for her all the study tips in the world won't do a bit of good for you you will most likely end up losing interest and pursue something else anyway so it's better to go with something that you are interested in, that way the payoff for studying and working hard will be a lot greater.

It's very hard to be motivated when your heart is not in it. Besides your aunt supporting your education, what other reasons do you have to pursue a career in nursing? You and your aunt must understand that there is no point in continuing as a nursing student if you are going to be failing your classes because you will both lose that way;
you will be wasting your time and your aunt will be wasting her money. If you honestly cannot find other reasons to continue nursing, you should consider switching your major to something you would enjoy and know will become successful in, although you're probably going to have to take a student loan.
