Does any employer value originality/individuality anymore?

i used to be a car audio installer back in 1995-1999. i had freedom to design boxes, door panels, sub placement, amp location...whatever. for the past few years i've been a college student, going for nursing. i have a 3.43 gpa, but the nursing schools are over filled. so onwards and upwards? i can graduate in two more semesters as a counselor with my B.S. some of my profs are telling me i need to go to grad school and should pursue environmental law (the environment is my passion). the thing is is that i'm so sick of school....its really just another institutionalized business. i would hope that grad school is different than normal college, but i'm unsure how deep i should let myself get into debt. for the past week or two i've been wanting to just finish this semester out and go get a job....just about any job. but the funny thing is is that i am now 46,000 dollars in debt for education loans/expences. what should i do? damned if i do, damned if i dont. ideas?

Only $46K?! Consider yourself fortunate! Sounds like a little burn out. Take some time to gather yourself. I was an enlisted man and quite literally practiced medicine for 23 years. When I retired, I had 136 credit hours -- most of them in the upper level hard sciences. I went back to school and was only allowed to transfer 47 -- none of the upper level courses. Because I couldn't do the calculus and chemistry, I had to switch my major. I graduated as a high school teacher and still couldn't get hired. My wife and I now own a dog grooming business. She grooms, I pet and distract. It's enough to make your head implode. In medicine, I was good enough for the President of the United States. In the civilian world, I'm not qualified to pass out band aids in a mass casualty situation. Go figure.
About that originality/individuality stuff. Can't have it in my line of business. The people expect the established standard. My recommendation, start your own business.

no it scares them actually

You need to soul search sweetie! Go take some career inventory tests at your school's career development center. Do what fits you because you don't want to be in debt for something you don't want to do. No no one values individuality. I have an orange afro and I put this on everything I want to slap the next person who tells me that I should put a relaxer in it or press it. they say that natural black hair isn't professional...that sucks doesn't it?
