United States Navy questions....? |
I currently have my AA degree in Business administration and am interested in Joining the Navy. I was told you must have a BA to join the officer program, and that is all I am interested in. I am thinking about continueing my education to try and get my BA in Business in a little over a year and then going for the Navy. In the Navy though, I am actually interested in becoming a nurse. I would like to get my BA in nursing, but would like to do it in the Navy. If I joined, would I be placed based on my business degree or would I be able to get into health care as I work on my degree? I'm little stuck on what to do. If you enlist your degree will have nothing to do with the jobs you are offered. Everything is determined by the scores you get on the various areas of the ASVAB aptitude test. http://www.navy.com/careers/enlisted/med... ; http://www.navy.com/careers/officer/heal... ; http://www.navy.com/careers/enlisted/fin... ; http://www.navy.com/careers/officer/supp... ; http://www.military.com ; http://www.navy.mil I hope these links help. a Business degree will not be competitive for an Officer slot in the Navy. If you want to go Nursing, then get your Nursing degree and apply afterwards. There is a program whereby you can go to Nursing school on the Navy's dime, but it is VERY hard to get into. |
