Help I really want a caring profession? |
I am considering doing Veterinary Nursing as I love animals but is that enough when I really want to make a difference to people? I wish I had the nerves to do Human Nursing but am scared how I would cope as I have had depression, but I do enjoy first aid which I know is different. I thought about doing Psychology/Counselling or Education but am so unsure! I really want to go back to uni and retrain now having worked in IT and I want to get it right now! Serious advice only please! I love animals and went into college pre vet med/biology. But I did not like the technical side of chemistry and other things needed to obtain that degree. I ended up going business instead. I am self employed as a Realtor and make animals a part of my marketing whenever possible. I figured I will just make a good living & give back to the community by volunteering when I can. I often call and report neglect/abuse from travelling around town plus I pick up strays and take to shelter. You remind me of my ex he is also in IT but feels like he wants something more--armed forces, coast guard, police officer, you name it. Maybe take one of those career / goals tests to see if you are even a good fit based on personality/qualifications. I know tickle.com has some. I am not sure of your age but I know that once you get past like 25 time seems to speed up and go double. So I am sure you don't want to waste too much time trying to find yourself. nurse or teacher?? be a guidance counselor or a kindergarden teacher Being a vet nurse, you can make a big difference to those caring anxious pet owners who bring their little friends in... By being a vet nurse, you will be making a difference in people's life. Animal lovers are hurt when their pet is sick. You fix the pet, you fix the person at the same time. |
