I have a Bachelors degree in Biology?

so why can't I find a JOB...all I have been offered is little temp jobs and some even offered 10.00 - 15.00 USD hour...WHY is this happening...I live in PA...I know just off of my degree alone there is a good job I can employ while saving money and pursuing further degrees...Please help me people...everyone says get an education for your future but I am earning just as much as people who worked right after highschool and even below some of them...I want a permanent, good position and not dumb temp assignments...Is this the American dream?...I'm thinking of now getting a degree in nursing at least I know in about 2 years I'll make decent $...I have the chance to get a Masters in Medicine but don't even know what I can do with that like (what majors fall under it)...like anatomy, gyno, nursing, what...I feel like my life is wasting away and nothing good has come from this degree...why waste money on another one just to be in the same situation again? I dont know what path to take...

I wanted to be an ob/gyn but only did good in science classes during undergrad...is there like a program that will allow me to take classes and then determine if I can be accepted into their med school or to get in this role what can I take up that falls under a masters in medicine?...or even falls under a nurse practitioner maybe or a high level nurse?...every school I contact the people act as if they have no time to sit and talk with me and I was offered a program to help get into med school since my overall GPA wasn't great but it offered me all the same classes I already had w/ the exception of MCAT prep. My counselor in undergrad said in my science classes I had a B average...why is this happening? People who strip and make porn and break the law get paid more and it's not this much of a headache...maybe I can do something with the army, be a nurse for them...how much would that generate?

You learned something in four years and that is a good thing. You are smarter for it, but now might be gaining wisdom. The education you are getting now is that education is often a comodity, like livestock. It has a value and depending on the type of education you get (your major) is worth more or less. A four year biology degree is not as valuable as a four year business degree in terms of income potential.
A college counsellor should have been able to tell you that, or you should have been able to figure that out on your own.

As for the American dream, the opportunity you have because you live in this great country is the American dream. You got to go to college! In other countries, that might not happen for you. YOU got to choose what you studied! And the thing is, you still have the opportunity to further your education! YOU determine your own American dream!

Do not despair or bemone your fate. You are an intelligent person with a brain and resources that you can use to better yourself and your position. You have earned a bachelor's degree and are capable of learning more, and growing professionally and personally.

Yes, go back to school. Earn a degree is something you love to do that will also make you a decent living. If nursing is your thing, then go for it. But DO YOUR HOMEWORK. Get a degree that you know BEFORE you start that will get you a job when you're done (I suggest looking into occupational therapy or a related field). Seek the advice of college counsellors, mentors, people in your chosen field, or even research current hiring trends to see what professions are getting hired.

On top of all that, the best advice I can give you is to REMAIN POSITIVE. Look at what you have instead of what you don't have. Don't ever forget the power of potential. You have tremendous potential and YOU control your destiny.

Good luck.

I felt like this after I graduated college as well, even though I am in a different field. However, I realize now that while I may have started off at the same pay as someone without education, I have moved up extremely fast, while their potential to advance is a little more limited. I have two friends with biology degrees, one is a vet tech, and one works for a lab that basically runs blood test. They both like their jobs. I had a horrible time when I first graduated finding anything, sometimes it can be your location. I had to move. Also, the job market is just not good now. Keep the faith, the right job will come up eventually. Until then, you never know when a temp job could lead to something bigger. Most college grads have to take what they can get until a better opportunity comes along. Experience is what many emplyers look for first, then education. However, a combination of the two leads to very good money. Good Luck!

good luck but i am in england.

congratulations YOU ARE A VERY ACHIEVED YOUNG LADY!!! SORRY IF THAT GROSSED YOU OUT.

You can work in labs in hospitals or law enforcement. I believe that both would help with tuition if you wanted to further your education.
