Is it difficult to find work as a middle school math/science teacher in MI?

I was pursuing a degree in education (elementary), but decided it would be more cost effective to change to nursing. Will this market be flooded soon as well? I live in Michigan and I need to change professions.

I think qualified teachers can find a job anywhere.

Math and Science teachers are hard to find so if that is what you want to do go for it.
Nurses with a BS degree will always be in need. With seniors living longer there will always be a need. Plus if you have children and want to work the hours are more flexible.

Major in what you want. Jobs come and go.
Not always easy to find a teaching job in Michigan these days, with the economy being as it is...
However, with a Michigan teaching certificate, you'll be able to get a job in any state. MI prepares teachers well.
