Mistakes and the future? |
I made a mistake 2 years ago. I joined the military with out being fully informed and bailed out in bootcamp. I LIED and said I was nuts to get out. The discharge was honorable code 2C. I am one class away from my AA degree in nursing. I have had a delay in completing my practical nursing program. Since then I have began to question my mistake and decision to leave the military more now than ever before. I will have an opportunity to complete my practical nursing program. I have a great life and significant other but question whether or not I should try to go back into the military. I was told by army recruiters that my chances are very good of getting back in with my education and no history of criminal or mental ailments. What should I do? From fellow recruiters and my experiences, I would have to tell you is if your re-entry code on your discharge paperwork is other than a RE-4, your chances on getting back into the Army is very good. Nursing is a wonderful opportunity to help others and to feel good at the end of the day. To feel good that you made a difference in someone's life that you have made the world a better place. Whether you accomplish that in a career inside or outside of the military is of little significance. Go and help the wounded soldiers. Ask yourself this... Can you live with being yelled at every day, several times a day for 5 weeks straight. This is the first and hardest thing that everyone has to deal with in boot camp. The yelling is done for two reasons: To test the new boot's mental stability and to establish dominance by non-com's (you'll notice real officers never yell unless in battle or when it's Really necessary). If life is good, stay on your present path. You have gotten your Only you can decide what to do. But I want to ask you this....what has changed from then til now that makes you change your mind about wanting to be in the military? What were you uninformed about that mattered so much you had to lie to get out of your contract you willingly signed but now is no big deal? Only you and you alone can make that decision you do not say how old you are but if your young and pass your degree in nursing you would be an asset to the military If you implied that you were mentally ill what makes you think that you will be able to get back in? They will have documented that you have "mental ailments". Why would they not assume that you will not do the same thing again? Yes!, I can imagine what happened to you in the showers when you were at the army, that's why you are now a fully transsexual nurse, welcome back darling! |
