Foreign Student in Medical School?

Hi guys,

Well, I was talking to a family member the other day whose son is a US citizen and a Doctor. He told me that it is nearly impossible for Foreign students to get into medical schools.

I Have been in the US for a while and am a Foreign student but have had a majority of my education here in the US. Is it true that I can't get into a medical school no matter how much I try? Do I have to be a US citizen to go to Medical School?

Please help me with this. All I have ever wanted is to be a doctor and I don't want to settle for a nurse no matter how great the job is.

I never heard that...talk to your counselor
On a positive note, if you are stuck with being a nurse, you'd be at the top. To be an RN, you only need an associates..if you have a bachelors..you'll be the cream of the crop :)

I admire your ethusim, (forgive my spelling). But I don't know that much, you should be able to get into medical school. My father was like you, and he was accepted, and he was not yet a citzen.

I don't know but we have a good University for almost 1/3 of the price in Mexico City (UNAM), go do your education there in come her USA have a need for doctors.
