Can anyone give me advice? |
I am kind of confused of what I want to do with my life in the future. Somehow I feel like I am not achieving what I wanted to do when I was younger be a veterinarian or a nurse. When I first started college, I went to study nursing but I found out it was harder for me to grasp the information on the first semester so I change my major to computers. Somedays it can be interesting and somedays it can be dull. But I like the web and graphics design. I want to be a webmaster and continue my education towards forensics with computers. So what should I do should I continue my education with computers and take those biology classes to see if it is right for me, I think I want to become a veterinarian or be in forensics? I am suppose to be transferring to a university after 2007. Please if you are mature and could help me with my decision I would appreciate it. I also do love animals but I don't think I'll be cut out for surgery People always are asking young people what they want to do with their life. I recommend you begin by asking yourself why you want to know. This may seem a silly question, but I think you would agree that each person on this planet might be trying to get somewhere quite different, and for different reasons. Do you want to change the world? Get rich? Please your parents? What is it that鈥檚 driving your need to know? Answering this question first may help you understand what鈥檚 most important. Talk to a career counselor at your school. Also, check out the library for books on aptitude tests. They're usually in the "Careers" or "Finance" section. These might help you figure out what you like and what you're good at doing. Try to find something that fits your personality. For example, if you are quiet you might decide you don't want a job which is noisy (i.e, dogs barking all day). You seem to like computers, nursing and animals so maybe you'll enjoy managerial or administrative work in a hospital. You can always start with one thing and work your way up as you learn different parts of the job. You might even come across an area of interest you didn't think of before. Good luck. |
