Am I going against Gods plan? Disapointing him?

I felt lead by God to go into nursing..I felt like He opened so many doors for me to go into that field and so here I am..half way through my first semester in nursing school and really do not like it. Prior to Nursing, my chosen career path was teaching. I dropped my edu courses, now, I am seriously regreting taking this new path. I am ready to get my $ back on this semesters tuition before its too late and continue with Education, but there is just one thing stopping me..am I disapointing God by going into teaching now? My heart is helping children and when I think of teaching I feel very warm and positive..nursing I feel very cold and negative..alot like a hospital! I love Him so much and just do not want to let God down. Anyone have any insight on this?

i think it would only disappoint god if you didn't follow your heart.change your studies be happy.

Good Girl! How do you like not to disappoint HIM but still be able to do what you want to do?

Teach nursing.

sorry god does not lead u into trouble.
if u feel nursing isn't ur thing then don't do it.
u'll hate it and be a lousy nurse.

talk to God again, hear what he says

First, you need to know, it is no surprise to God that you will have a question about ditching nursing school. Am I right? He IS everywhere, afterall. :)

Knowing that is one part of answering your question, but I think the bigger question you should be asking yourself is not "would God hate me for this?" and, "what do I really want to do?". Again, God has a plan for you. He knows what it is, he knows how you're gonna get there. You, on the other hand, seem to have a terrific opportunity with nursing that has lead to some rough roads and questions about should you continue or not, and equally terrific opportunities with a teaching career.

What you must understand about your career move:

No career is easy. If you're hitting snags with nursing now, don't be surprised if you hit similar snags with teaching, down the line. Ask yourself what it is that you don't like about it? Late hours? Too much time on your feet? Demanding schedule or criteria? Understand that these things will also surface on the teaching level, and you'll have the same problem, different career.

Understand that every career offers very interesting things at the same time, it will have its low points. If it is a general distaste for the subject matter that makes you want to quit nursing, ask yourself why you wanted to take it up in the first place? My guess is, there was a good reason, but now being in the field, do you find more good stuff than bad?

Finally, you must research your next career move. Don't run into the next field just because you think the grass will be greener. It may be, sure, but it might also be worse or boring, or really hold no appeal. On that note, if you are looking into teaching because it would be 'easier' stop now, and check your reality. It won't be. ;)

Either way, and back to your original question... God DOES have a plan for you. It may be nursing, it may be teaching, it may be both. Listen to your heart, pray for guidance, and watch for those little signs. The answer will have to come from you. But like I said in the beginning, if you ended up staying or leaving in your current academic endeavor, and become a great success within it, or, outside of it, it will be no surprise to Him. :) Good luck!
