What is your health care job? |
What is your health care job? I am a RN on a cardiac floor in a metropolitian hospital. I have an associates degree. Prior to RN school I was a LPN for 7 years. As a LPN I worked in a nursing home PRN and FT at a county hospital. I love nursing, but do not care for the environment of the nursing homes. I WK IN A NEUROLOGIST OFFICE. I DO CLERICAL WORK ANSWERING PHONES,SCHEDULING APPOINTMENTS SOME FILING ETC... I HAVE ONLY A HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION BUT I HAVE WKD HERE 9 YEARS AND I MAKE 14.65. I LOVE MY JOB 8-4:30 M-F NO NIGHTS OR WEEKENDS AND I'M NOT ON MY FEET ALL DAY. I am an RN with an Associates degree. I got my associates about 4 years ago and prior to that I was an LPN for 11 years. I work in a nursing home/rehab center doing care planning for the residents. I make $32.00/hour and I love my job. As an LPN, I would make anywhere from $19-$24/hour, so going back to school really helped my pay alot. Please go back. CNA work is very, very hard-as you know-and you guys do not get paid anywhere near what you should. Good luck to you. Medical Biller: hrs: various: occasional work at home when weather is bad. Doing this for 12+ years....Pay is ok seeing what you make 16.00+ hrly. I did not go to school for billing, but for medical assisting...did not like the hands on after it I was done. Paper pusher seems the way to work smart and not hard. This allows my to be home with the 2 pre-teens after school...my husband to work f/t and I come out with 37.5 hrs weekly...and can be with the kids instead of a sitter. I'm studying to be a medical transcriptionist. If I can find work at home, it WILL be the perfect job! To be able to work from home is very important to me. For 12 years I worked in medical records. While working in the MR dept, I went back to school for medical transcription. I went from one huge corporate health care to another. I finally applied with a private company and now work from home. No more going to work in rain, snow, ice, etc. I work in my jammies and life is good. I get paid per line. The harder I work the more I get paid. I also have really good benefits. |
