If a crna decides to go to medical school, can they just go or is there is a long process? |
Lets say one becomes a CRNA, gets a bachelor degree of science in Nursing, then continues to a nurse anesthetist program, he or she does that for a year or so then decides to continue education and become an anesthesiologist... is that possible or easily done? Can you just apply to medical school at that point or do you have to back track your education and retake courses? There is no transition program from a CRNA to an anesthesiologist. Even if a CRNA had practiced anesthesia for 20 years, they would have to start all over (i.e. complete all pre-med requirements, take MCAT, 4 yrs medical school, 4 yrs residency) to become an anesthesiologist. |
