I Really Need Your Help.....?

Hi everyone...I am currently in a four year university (part time due
to work) working on a degree in Education. Because of some bad choices
earlier in college, my GPA is crap(which means I pay for school myself)
and it will take me about six years to get back on track to finish
school. I currently work at a hospital as an administrative/nursery tech
(faxing, filing, admits, med orders, changing babies, feeding,
temperatures etc....). It's a good job but for what I make (money wise) it will
not support me for six years (to finish school or for the rest of my
life). The idea of going to a two year LPN program so that I can make
more money has been presented to me. After the program, I will go back to
college to start back on my education degree (But I may just may be
content as a LPN and don't worry about it.) I know the two field choices
are both totally different but before I chose Education as a degree I
wanted to be a nurse (but I felt I wouldn't at that time commit to a four
year nursing degree as I would now if I had a chance). So what do yall
think...Is it a good idea or not? Please give reason why or why not!!!
Thank You....

Honey,
Go for the LPN, I do not think you will regret it, nurses are needed everywhere, & though it is hard work, it is very rewarding! Teaching is a tough field, & I know quite a few teachers that though the love the job, feel they could make more mone elsewhere. The medical field is so wide open right now, I bet if you stick with it, you will be very happy in the long run. Just my opinion.

ya deffo go for it nursing or education or nursing = education just do what you think is right for you you seem smart enough and old enough to make the right choice for youXD

It sounds like you just want to get a degree in as little amount of time as possible so you can start making good money. Choose what you think you will enjoy more. In the end, though it might be a long road, it will make you happier, because it's an even longer road to retirement.

nursing is a good choice if you got drive and plus they pay alot $$$$$.

I was once in a pickle like that. I originally went to school for education. Nursing is a much more rewarding career and you everyday you have an opportunity to teach your patients.

If money is a huge concern for you, go the LPN route. I make pretty good money, I'm in the midst of going for my RN, and I even plan on somewhere down the line going back to school for veterinary science, lol.
