How do you get a second part time job when your current job requires you to work?

every weekend and you never have the same schedule. Your current employer isn't flexible and expects you to put this job first and at the same time any other employer would expect you to put that job first although neither job pays much and hours are part time. Having experience only in retail and most retailers won't hire you if you won't work nights and weekends (especially when you apply) but you are already working nights and weekends at the other place. I only have a high school education and don't have the time or money to get anything more (also have a child that needs my time) I don't have transport and live in a bad neighborhood so I can't work a shift that would require me to get out late at night or come home early in the morning. I generally work 2-9 30 2 weekdays and sat and sun but my 3 days off during the week are different every week. Most of the people that I know that work a retail part time job have a regular day job like a nurse or business person.

most people are working the one retail job as part time. Not having a car I have to ride the bus or depend on a coworker for a ride or take a taxi, which can be expensive and if I ended up working too far from home, the taxi might cost more than what i'm making.

try working from home

I would like to put to you another idea. Its in the source box. We all sit at home on the computer so why not put our time to use. I do this and I have been fortunate enough to stop my 9 to 5. Maybe it is something you could consider. I never ask anyone to pay so of course the information is all free. No plug, but it is an opportunity that we all let go by until someone shows us the way.

Here's an idea: Find a salesperson who wants someone to do his phone calling to qualify potential leads. You can do it from home, and you can have flexible days and hours. You might want to check with the local BNI (business networking) group to see if they know anyone, or start trying local businesses like a printer to see if they're interested. You could also try the local mortuary, as they often have to set up appointments for advance sales.

Some people make a good extra income selling stuff on auction sites like eBay and Amazon.com. You need to research what sells, and have a knack for writing good description (and I found I was *very bad* at that.). But you can certainly do things like that around your erratic schedule.

Also, if you have a talent like sewing, or cooking, maybe you can do something with that. I have a friend who is looking into a business where she bakes birthday cupcakes (to take to school) for moms who don't have time for that.

Maybe find one you don't have to spend so much time on. See my profile.

You may also look out for an option to work online to make extra cash in your spare time. I am a part time worker doing work online at home, so I would like to share a link where you can make $600-$1500 in a month working at home. The work need to be done is posting/answering a discussion and uploading any photo/image of your interest. For details visit

I will publish few more genuine site in couple of weeks, where you can earn money. You may also write to me at talkofmoney@rediffmail.com (Note: When u are planning for a home based online work, be careful because most of them are scam and ask you to pay initial money. never pay money to any such site.)
