Is my university degree worthless?

ok heres the problem:聽 I am moving to a new country (the netherlands) where the speak a different language.聽聽 I am learning the language pretty well but havent mastered it.My degree is in international business and french and I probably will not be able to find a job (although i havent really searched yet).聽 The netherlands has a good job market but not great in this field. My question is, should I try and become a Registered Nurse or take a part time job until i can find a better job?聽 My bf says that he finds it hard to swallow that I would go down a level and i have a better education tha to become a nurse but honestly I want to be able to find a job (nursing jobs are in high demand) and I would like to help people too. What do you gusy suggest?(also keep in mind my mastery of the dutch lang isnt perfect so i would nee practice in conversation with others first)

Being a nurse is tough. There's a reason there's a high turnover. I'm a guy just graduating with an econ degree and the job market doesn't look that great for me. There are days when I think to myself that being a nurse or dental hygienist would have made me more money out of college. But these jobs are hard to like.

They speak English very well in the Netherlands. They are probably the best second language English speakers in the world. I think you can get a job there. There are many international Dutch corporations like ING and Royal Dutch Shell. You have to do what you like. Don't give up on business if you think you'll like it. If you think you'll like being a nurse, go for it. Try to get an idea of what the job is like before you use up your youth in school. Why not try tourism in Amsterdam? Thomas Cook?

I would say check and see how much a Registered Nurse
makes you may be quite surprised. I know in the U.S.A.
they make about 35 dollars an hour which is pretty good money.

Excuse me???? Exactly how is being an RN "down a level" from the degree that you have aquired? If your BF is ever hospitalized with a serious illness, I suspect he will have a little more respect for the profession of nursing. In the meantime, you need to think about what you really want to do with your life. If you believe nursing could be a field where you could flourish, then you should look into that. On the other hand, if you would be doing that as a second choice because you might not be able to find work in your desired field, then you owe it to yourself to really search your options in that field first before you give up.
