For you nurses out there..why do you hate the lab so much?

I am a Medical Technologists and am wondering why nurses have a so high and mighty attitude toward the lab.I have a BA (4 year degree)the same as an RN and more education than other nurses. So why do we get looked down on.We also have to take harder classes in school compared to a nurses.

We also have to take A&P...3-4 chemistry classes,Micro classes,Hematology,Parasitology,Blood Bank,Statitics,etc...just a point that we have difficult classes also. That isn't nearly the just of it.I agree we both have hard classes, but that was not the question.

Boy you must know some burned out nurses. I don't think badly of or look down on the lab folks. Heaven knows I wouldn't want your job. I wouldn't say your classes are harder than ours were, nor that ours were harder than yours. Not really comparible, truth be told. I don't think you'd have cared for my anatomy and physiology classes at all. You have no more education that I do, nor any less. Different, that's all. Your job is also different. I bet you also look down on some of the others as well. How nice are you to the man who keeps your Coulter Counter running? The guys in medical maintenance get even less respect- yet they make our jobs all so much easier. So dump your chip off that shoulder and get friendly with a different group of nurses.
