Opinion on School | College acceptances?

Hi I am 17 years old. Last year I obtained my GED at Sussex Community College. My scores were: Math[96] ; Reading[95] ; Language Arts[93] ; History[82] ; Science[73] . My total score was 3100 and battery average was 620. I sent my application for a Vocational & Techical School 15 month Nursing Program to become an LPN. After I obtain that certificate for nursing I would like to apply to Rutgers for my Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing, so I can become an OB nurse. I'm a teen mom of an 8 month old baby boy and I absolutely adore my son and LOVE being a mother, I was also extremely excited during my pregnancy and even lived in a pregnancy home for a few months taking classes on parenting, labor|delivery, newborn care .. ect. so thats why I really want to be an OB nurse. Now my questions are .. Do you think my GED scores are high enough for this Vocational & Techical School? If I already have my LPN certificate, would i need to take any SATS to further my education in nursing?

Also I sent my application in on Monday and the paper said after you submit it, they will send a letter stating a date for a Reading and Math admission test. How long before I receive this, do you think ?

hey neighbor,

where do you want to go to VTS? You will probably find info on their website or in a letter they already sent you. Your scores seem high enough, although science is a little bit low. There are plenty of options though! Votech is a good school...

You might need to take GREs or LSATs later on. Kaplan has testing services that are cheap through RU or even other local schools close to sussex.

You will probably need to take the SATs to get into Rutgers though. Good luck!! congrats on the GED ;)

I originally wasn't going to reply because I can't say I know about all the issues you raise. But it really sucks if you don't get a reply so I feel obliged to say something.

First I think you are pretty amazing.

Second I don't think you will have any problems getting in to VTS.

Third with an LPN I doubt you will have to do SATS.

Thanks
Bill
