Military and Education?

im taking pre-nurse courses at a community college but im interested to joing the military. however, does military can help me finish my nurse program while receiving training at the same time or should i finish the nurse program and then join the military?

If you join in the med field then the classes you take will roll over to the Civil world and count towards your degree. Now, some classes you would have already taken and the credits will be useless. If you are close to getting the degree then by all means try to finish and join as an officer. If you have just started your courses then go military that way you get the courses paid for (A school) and then you can get VA assistance 100% paid for (up to 4 creidt hours a year), and can get the GI bill. The whole time you are in school you are also making a paycheck, you also dont have to worry about insureance/housing so its a good deal, and once you finish the degree and you can still go officer!
If I were you I would do the military THEN school, but beware, it will not be easy. You will still have a job to do. but schooling is getting so much easier to do while in the military. There are schools on base, online schools, and being in school helps you get higher evals (a rating system) thus making it eaiser for you to be promoted!

Finish your college and take the nurses license test then join as an officer in the Military, more money, better housing.

The military will not only assist you in finishing your nursing program while training you in the latest, hi-tech fashion... but they will PAY for your school, and PAY for your training....
They will even transfer your training and MOS qualification into college credit hours...
Not to mention all the benefits... and the experience, pride and purpose that comes with serving your country!
And when you get your nursing degree... you can go green to gold and become an officer.

important issues

Stay with your nursing program and maybe look into ROTC. It will help pay your tuition and you will become an officer in the military after you finish your program. The military is a great way to get experience however if you want to finish your degree do it before you join the military. If you join the military you could only take two classes a semester, if you aren't deployed or in other upgrade training.

The military highly stresses education. You cannot make senior ranks without an education. If you are referring to the US military, them yes; you will have every opportunity to complete your education. I wanted a degree in Engineering and guess what? The military is paying for it AND giving me a huge raise when I am done (I will be an officer). Good luck to you, and God Bless our Soldiers!!!
