Nursing vs Obstetrician/Gynecologist? |
i cant decide which would be better for me... what are the requirements for the two and what is involved in the jobs.. approxamately how much would each of the educations cost and what would i need to do to get a degree in these feilds.. i live near Pheonix, Az. serious answers from real knowledge or experiance please. Thank You! with nursing you can take a shorter route which is ADN at a community college and it take 2 years or BSN at a university which is 2 years prerequisites and 2 years in the program which you have to apply to. OB/GYN is a doctor so you would need a biology or pre-med bachelors first then apply to medical school, then specialize in gynecology. Of course medical school can be very expensive, sometimes over 100,000. So it all depends on you and how long you are willing to be in school. dont worry about how much it costs, at the will pay off. My very limited experience would suggest you go for the latter field. Nursing seems to burn people out horribly. I saw this first hand when I worked in a mental health crisis center for two years. |
