Education advice?

I'm thinking of going into different field. I have got my B.S in Finance.
1. Should I go into nurse assistant career
2. MBA
3. Take accounting class
4. Other if so wheich one

Nurse assistant it's a WAY different field, I also studied Finance and a really like it, and am thinking of getting a MBA. But if you think you are not cut out for Business Administration (God... nursing it's a whole other world) I think you should go for it.

I vote for #2- MBA. Much more options and opportunity if you have an MBA than the other things on your list.

You have a BS in Finance. Great! Why did you choose "Finance" as your educational endeavor? What interested you in Finance? An MBA would be awesome! What job would you like to perform? Do you want to pursue a management career say like in Financial Services, CPA Firm, CFO position, or Investment Firm? Finance is a great field and everybody needs it. What is causing you to say "I'm thinking of going into a different field?" Answer that question? And you will have a better idea of what path to take. Good Luck! :-)

The MBA is a good choice, the business field is always looking for people with finance backgrounds who have MBAs. I have an MBA and no finance background but it allows me to work in a variety of places. You can work in a lot of different industries, they all need someone with business skills.

Whatever decision you make be careful that at the end of the day its your, time money and effort and that in business you are seen to be the best person for the job.

So whatever you do do not overqualify yourself because you believe it will help you; know it will help you;
Dont do an MBA because you want to buy time or because this will help you get a better job in industry because depending on which business area you go into it might not help you at all. An MBA is really nice qualification and do that if you intend or you have the will to make it to CEO or another board member or your company is sponsoring you their or don't.

So my best advice is decide on your career and just go there. Research the market understand the business areas and where roles and responsibilities appear. Then know yourself and understand you intelligence and what you are capapble of and dont think I need to an MBA first to do that.

Once you have decided on you careers and the actual requirements then form your plan and go for further study if necessary to qualify in your field. If your chosen profession doesnt have formal requirements but you need an entry route then just start applying for as many jobs as possible.

Also what is your life plan. Are you committed? DO you want to pay into a mortgage now or later? What are your life goals?
If you want family in your mid or late twenties when it is the most ideal then studying later restricts your options a little.

Find somebody intelligent to discuss your ideas and even give you financial advice. Alot in life your choics and options depend on the information you recive as much as the physical opportunity.

For example it is possible to go into law without a law degree and then graduate and then take a conversion course. But any conversion course is an extra year and costs about 10,000 including your expenses. So the logic goes why do a different degree in the first place if it will cost you time and money?

For you I would recommend a) FInance in either banking or the finance department of a company as a finance office.
b) Full time accounting course so you can qualify as an accountant and then pursue accounting jobs. Accounting being more demanding than finance.
c) Dont do an MBA.

To round my position of anybody can learn and take a class but in the real world it is what you can do? How about Sales or MArketing?

All the fields sound good but have you ever thought about Real Estate?

Go to a local college and fill out a questionaire that will tell you what you would be best qualified for. They are free and this will help you make a wise decision by basing it on one that you would be good in. Being in a field you enjoy though you might make less $ means more than being in a field making more and being unhappy. Good luck!

accounting class or business management.

as you have done BS in Finance so according to me you should go 4 an MBA as your earlier studies will be further enhanced and hence when you are done with MBA you have greater chances of getting a good job

I would go into accounting. For several reasons. I enjoy detailed work, also when you do get your accounting degree you can start off with a private firm.

You are then sent to different clients each day, and the work places are diversified. It makes it that more interesting. Eventually, you will keep going up the ladder. You will also be able to do accounting at home, which brings in extra income. You will also have the option down the line to start your accounting business. It is a financially productive career.

I used to be an accounting assistant. I am retired now. Good luck to you.

My opinion is that you should try a related but different field. if you have a finance degree then you should try something like management so you can combine the two specialties. If you take accounting classes then you are just another Finance Major with an accounting background.
