Can I convert my BA Hons Degree in Sociology and Criminology to enter Medicine/Nursing?

I (am soon to graduate [this summer] and then will) hold a Batchelors in Criminology and Sociology (haha with my sentance structure). I was looking at my options post-education, and one area of interest I have always held is Medicine - I was wondering if anyone could tell me about degree conversions, as I was considering becoming a Nurse, as I heard somewhere that it will only take 2 years as I (will hopefully) have a degree.
One thing I am worried about is if it is too late to make a 'career change' in a sense, as my degree will be in Social Sciences and although I heard that is one type you can convert into medicine with, it will be a whole different world.
If I did decide I wanted to train to be a Nurse, how long would it take/could I convert my degree/how does that work??

Could I specialise after becoming a Nurse into child medicine? Would I be able to continue training to become a Doctor? How long would it take?
Sorry about the length, but detailed answers would be apprieciated!

I think it would be best now to figure out if you want to be a doctor or a nurse. I say this because you have already spent four years in school and I am sure that you have not met the pre-requisites for nursing or medicine.

Lets say you decide to do nursing....you most likely need another year to complete the pre-requisites then 2 years to complete the program. Now the pre-requisites for nursing and medicine are different also. So let鈥檚 say that you decide after getting a nursing degree that you want to be a doctor you would have to complete another year or so of pre-requisites then apply to medical school and do some years there then a residency....that鈥檚 a long time.

Now you could always do the nursing route and then later get a masters and become a nurse practitioner and they work independently or in conjunction with doctors in regards to patient care and that would only take another two years after the nursing degree as opposed to a medical graduate program and residency that is needed for doctors.
