Nursing school?

1. My fiance is a native spanish speaker and wants to become a nurse. Would she be in higher demand than a nurse that only speaks english.
2. What kind of money can a new RN expect to make in a hospital and a doctor office setting..
3. What is the process for becoming an RN. She is 21 and has a High School education but is a very high achiever
thanks!!

The demand for spanish-speaking nurses would probably be about the same, unless she tried working in an area where the spanish-speaking population is higher.

RN's don't typically hold jobs in office settings, but occasionally it happens. In Michigan RN's make about $25-35 an hour in the hospital, depending on which department, and dependent upon their experience. I'm not sure what state you are in, but try an online salary wizard to pinpoint it.

Before she starts worrying about wages, perhaps the better idea would be to decide if she wants to dive headfirst into a Registered Nursing program and devote the next three years of her life to learning. (3 years for an Associates Degree, 4-5 for a Bachelors)

There is a reason why nurses are in such high demand, and that is because the schooling is very difficult, and because working conditions for nurses can be extremely stressful.

PS: Perhaps she should take a Nurse's Aide course and work in a nursing home or rehab facility. It would give her a good idea of what nursing will be like.

Hope this helps!

SHe would be hired very quickly especially in states as new mexico, texas, arizona and many other places....

Theycan make around 50000+

Look into colleges... they have Registered Nursing Degrees, but it will probably take about 4 to 6 years to complete.

Due to the large population of Hispanics it USA, being Bi-lingual is a plus in the Nursing field. Starting pay is around $ 35.000 a year for a BSN
but each state is diffrent.( A Masters in RN will be much more.)
CNA -8 months -1yr.
LPN- LVN 1yr - 18 months
RN 3- 4 yrs
Masters BS +2yrs
