How much education does it take to become a registered nurse and how much money do they make?

How many years in college will I need?

An associates degree in nursing usually takes 2 years, while a bachelors degree (BSN) usually takes 4 years. If you just want to be a staff nurse then an associates degree is fine. However, if you want to be a charge nurse, nurse manager, or eventually get a masters degree in nursing, then you will need your BSN. Some hospitals also pay nurses with BSNs slightly more. If you are looking to get your degree quickly then you can always get your associates degree now, and pursue your bachelors degree at a later time. At the hospital I work at in Pennsylvania staff nurses start out around $47,000. If you eventually pursue a management position, or get a masters degree, you could earn anywhere from $60,000 to $120,000 and up.

an associated is more than 2 years, because you have to take some pre-requisits like some chemistry classes and some biology and anatomy and some maths, just like basic courses. I took 1 year taking those pre requisits and another 2 years taken nursing. so i spent 3 years for the associate Report It
