Can any one tell me the steps of education you need to become a nurse? A nurse degree is like any other degree. There is a certificate for an LPN/LVN which is usually about a year to 15 months. Then there is your RN, which is an associates which is usually two years and a summer. Then there is a Bachelor's degree: 4 years; a Master's 6 years etc.., you can get a PHD, nurse practitioner etc.., as well. Hi there. It can be kinda hard to get into nursing school.
