What typys of education do i need to become a nurse?

What typys of education do i need to become a nurse?

You need to decide what type of nurse you want to be. There is LPN( Liscenced Practical Nurse) or RN( Registered Nurse)

LPN Education- Usually done at a vocational school and takes about 12-18 months to complete. Salary ranges about $30,000-$45,000/year(about $15-$22/hour). Most LPN's work in a nursing home or home health, some also work in hospitals in which they are under the supervision of an RN.

RN Education- There are 3 types of degrees that you will allow you to become RN:
1.Diploma-Usually completed in a hospital and takes about 2-3 years to complete. There aren't many of these programs.
2.Associate' Degee- This is the most commonly attained nursing degree. It takes 2 years to complete and is available in most colleges and some community/jr colleges.
3.Bachelor's Degree- This is a four year program and is done in a college/university.
There is no difference in salary among the different degree holders. The only difference is that with a bachelor's degree you can further your education by going to graduate school. If you choose to go the diploma/associate's degree route you will have to take 1 year of additional schooling to obtain a bachelor's degree. For and LPN to become RN it would take an additional 1-2 years depending on what type of degree they are seeking(ex.Associates or Bachelors). This is the best option to me because while you are continuing your education getting a bachelor's degree, you can still work as an RN or LPN and make money rather than being a broke college student!
The salary of an RN ranges $48,000-$70,000($23-$34/HOUR)

Graduate School level nurses include Nurse Midwife, Nurse Anesthetist, Nurse Practitioner, Nurse Educator. Salary ranges about $90,000 to as much as $250,000 a year.

Nursing offers many opportunities and you will always be able to find a job anywhere you go. You don't even have to work in a hospital if you don't want to with titles like Legal Nurse or Nurse Educator.

I'm a nursing student and am in an Associate's degree program. After I graduate I'm going to get my bachelor's in nursing while working as an RN. Sfter that I will go to graduate school to get my Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesiology. Hope all of this helps!!!

Nursing education!

sorry, but you'll need to learn how to spell/type first.

Nursing takes a lot of education.

Check with your local community college first; maybe go in to nurses assistant before taking the plunge.

for LVN. or LPN> you need one year in most states in a
trade school or small college,
for RN. you need one year general college credits and
another year of nursing for your Associates Degree,
if you have college credits, they might be transferable
to the School of nursing, most small universities and
colleges offer one or both options,
LVN, or LPN is much less expensive,
