Thinking of making change In Career-Nursing or Teaching Math?

First let me say that any guidance anyone here can give would be so greatly appreciated. I am 35, married and working on the first child. I make a good living in Corp. Treasury but work with a group of arrogant, unsavory and personality deficient persons. In addition, I would like to eh opportunity to do something I enjoy (or think I would enjoy) as well as earn a pension with the goal of early retirement by 60.

Potential career paths:

1) Junior/ High School Math Teacher
** I have an MBA in Business and the job will pay towards a second Masters in education.

Concerns: How likely am I to be hired for a job teaching at 35 years old and how much could I expect to earn on Long Island, New York or Orlando, Melbourne Florida?

2) Nursing - As a male I am aware this a predominantly female position. I am aware of a 1 year course of study for those with a bachelors degree in something else that will end with the earning of a bachelors in Nursing at SUNY Stony Brook.

I personally would go with whatever makes you happiest. You should probably do some reasearch to find out what jobs are currently available in your area for both carreer paths. I would also consider the cost of each. Also, keep in mind that nursing will require many many hours of work when you are doing your first few years, and you will probably be tossed around on all the shifts quite a bit. If you are starting a family, this may be a concern.
Picture yourself in ten years, what is it you would think would be more fulfilling for you?
Whenever I decide what I want to be when I grow up, i'm sure it's going to be a job where I can't wait to get to work in the morning because I love my job. I'm 26 and still don't know what that job is!!

Good luck and all the best!!!

Speaking from experience, nursing is a profession where the work is not always worth the $. While it can be satisfying to know you've helped someone it is also humiliating. I advise you to KNOW what you're getting in to. When you have time look up a test that you may be responsible for collecting (just to name one)...guaiac!!!
