Career help!?

Ok my dream job is to be one of them nurses that takes care of newborns at the hospitle beofr there ready to go home. Like what kind of schooling would i have to go to and what kind of education would i need. Also when i go and apply for the job were exactly should i go?

First, concentrate on your writing. If you were looking after my kid, I would want you to be able to write clear, easily understood notes on what you did so the next person could pick-up where you left off.

You didn't say where you are in your education so, I'll assume high school. Study hard and do well in science; chemistry and biology.

Then, before talking to different colleges about their nursing programs, learn something about caring for newborns. For instance, that field of medicine is called neonatal care. If you don't have a working, basic vocabulary of the profession, you won't be taken seriously.

Then, research college nursing programs that offer a concentration in neonatal care.

So far as where to go for a job, the local hospitals will probably hold recruiting drives on campus. Also, look into internships. Those could turn into job offers. Finally, just call the hospital's nursery departments and ask if there is anyone you could talk to about a career in their unit.

This is one of those questions for a guidance counselor.

you would have to go and get your RN. no matter what kind of nurse you are you have to go to nurses school. you can specialize in newborn care during nursing school. actually nurses are one of the most in demand careers in the US. you can find a lot of help and scholarships going into nursing. best wishes

It depends... you can be a CNA, like I am, and provide basic care for mother and baby. A LPN or RN nurse provide the more detailed care, so I think that's what you are referring to. Like, tubes and monitoring and stuff, right? You can be a LPN or RN and work at the Mother and Baby unit at the hospital.

Your career would start with a nursing degree. This can be a 2 year degree or a 4 year BS from an accredited school.
You should look into nursing programs provided in your area and make an appointment with their admissions counsellors to determine what is required to enroll.
