Interested in going to school for nursing but I'm married, with 3 kids and a full time job, what should I do |
I barely have time to breath much less consider taking on more education. Also, I suck at math. I never went any higher than pre algebra and that was 15 years ago! But i'd really love to have a better paying job, it doesn't have to be nursing but maybe something similar. What do ya'll think I should do? Is it even possible? Yes I know it is possible . i am a mother of 3 boys and work full time also and i made time to go because i want it that bad i go two nights a week and every other weekend, it isn't to bad just takes a little longer but it is worth it. Report It how to eat an elephant? one bite at a time. start by going to the school or college youre interested in and get a counseling appointment. see what they have to offer. go from there...financial aid, registration, a class at night or online...plug away at it. AIU Online. The answer to my prayers. I graduated from there. It is 100% online and it is accreditated, tuition includes books. They have Healthcare Management Associate and Bachelor programs. start with online classes!!! the best thing to do. i'm in a similiar situation and this has worked out very well. good luck!! School is a full time job and you already have a fulI plate. You will need a lot of support from your family and have to make sacrafices. There are professions that don't require as much math as nursing.See a career counselor who will be able to direct you to a field you can excell in.Whatever you do,don't give up on yourself.People who have life experiences generally make great students. They're in school because they want to be,not because mommy and daddy want them to be.Go for it.I did and I got my degree and teaching credential at age 48. Good luck. maybe you should talk to your husband about quiting your job to focus on school. you can arrange your courses around your kids. Possible take online courses and go to class or evn clep a few of your general courses |
