Qualifications...?

Right, when I leave school this June, I am going to college to do a CACHE in Childcare and Education. When I've finished I have 4 A-Levels in Health & Social Care and I can become a nursery nurse or go on to University and do a Primary QTS training course.

We had college interviews the other week and a friend in my Science class who wants to do the same job as me but is going about it a different way said I need a Distinction in my Science BTEC before they'll let me work in a primary school.

Is this true, and if not, can someone tell me what I need because I've Googled it and I can't find out.

Taa.

**And from what I know a Distinction = 2 A*'s & 2 A's
Merit = 2 A's & 2 B's
Pass = 2 B's & 2 C's.

And when I researched in my younger years you needed a Grade C in Maths, English & Science to train.

To get on my course I need 5 A-C's

I already have an A grade in English and a C in Maths from early entry.

It is true, 99 3/4 sure.....LOL

Yes I think you do. If you go to your local library and get a book on health care courses it will tell you.

speak to your teacher or careers advisor
things change all the time and they should be up to date with the current changes
good luck

Ask your teachers not your friends.

You WILL NOT have 4 A Levels, your course will give you UCAS points but it is up to individual university whether they accept it or not.

Have a look at the universities you may be interested in going to and see what they ask for.

If you want to be a primary teacher you MUST have GCSE English, Maths and Science.

Also look at UCAS and see what the universities are asking for this will tell you inf they want distinction or merit. It is unlikely you would get on a teaching course with just a pass profile.
