What's the best education move for a 51 y/o female?

I want to complete my college degree, but in the area I live in, there's not a lot of job oppty. Teaching or nursing is about it - neither of which I want to do. I must get my education online or at night. I'm considering business (acct or HR), Health Info Mgmt, or Human Svcs. At my age, I want to be assured that it'll pay off in the long/short run. Suggestion?s

1st you need to figure out what you want to be when you grow up. i 49 and not done growing.

It will pay off. I went back to get my MS at 55; it opened an entire new career as a college adjunct. I'd go with accounting or HR -- but follow your heart on this.

Business manager (associates degree) is one that I was going to suggest! The reason this would benefit is starting your own business, then family can take over when you no longer can/ there are always jobs out there looking for a manager.

Child Development is another. It has to do with teaching teaching children, but you teach the children behavior, respect, how to dress them selves, and basic education (reading, spelling, counting). While teaching them these things you get paid by the state and parents (for babysitting).

My father is 54 yrs. He wanted to get a degree before he goes. Since he is disabled he is unable to work, so the degree he chose was computer technology. He not only got a degree, he received an award for 4.0 grade level. So, choose something you know alot about and do your best at getting highest grade you possibly can.
