What are the education requirements to become a nurse practitioner? Do they need to intern like doctors?

An NP has a masters in the field. They do what are termed CLINICALS where they gain practical experience during their education program.

A NP in MOST states can now work in an independent practice- not under control of a physician.

The previous post is right-on. Masters degree then clinical experience.

A NP always works under the credentials of a practicing physician, too.

Np needs a Masters and can alos get your Doctorate in nursing (DON)
