Single mom and Nursing School? Help?

Im a widow with 2 children and no survivor benifits. Im wanting to go to nursing school at local junior college. I only have high school education. I need all info possible. Assistance info. , how hard is it? Is it a good career? Im doing reasearch and need to hear all info on it. Im a little scared but I have to do something for us. Never guessed I would be in this situation. What classes do I have to have before entering Nursing? Help Please. I lost my job and need a good career for my children and myself. Thanks everyone.

I just want to tell you: don't be scare. Everybody feels like that at one time or another. If everybody stopped doing something for being afraid, nothing would be done. What you are trying to do will be the best for you and your children. I wish you the best. You deserved for your willingness to work hard for a better future. And don't be mistaken, it will be hard.

First get in touch with a counselor at the Jr. college. They will be able to tell you every pre-req class you will need. I am a single mom too trying to go back to school and I know it is difficult, you can always apply for student financial aid. Nursing would be a great career, and think.. you'll be able to fix almost any booboos!! ;) Good luck!
