Can I teach overseas with a degree in education, and concentration in ESL? |
I am going to school to get my degree in education, I was previously in nursing school and wasted alot of time on something that wasn't right for me, so I changed over to education, which was my second choice, but I am extremely interested in teaching overseas...I don't want to change my major again to ESL, and waste even more time. Some one suggested that I just do a concentration in ESL, I really dont know what the benefit of a concentration is, whats the difference between it and minor? So with all that said do you think I can get a job overseas (prefer middle east) with good pay and benefits with education degree and a concentration in ESL, or will I have to get a masters in ESL to get any benefit, and will that even help since my orignal major is not ESL You only need a Bachelor's degree to teach in most schools overseas but an ESL certificate will provide you more opportunities and a higher pay scale.
