Does a school nurse get the same education as any other nurse? What degree of education does a school nurse?

have? My son's school nurse seems like she's not quite holding a full deck is why I am asking.

I'm pretty sure a school nurse has to be a RN look where she's working they have to be a little off.

Yes, they should. All states mandate licensing, and continuing education credits. Check with the school administrative staff. They should have a copy of her license on file. She should probably be an LPN. She might be an RN, but I doubt it. It would cost the school quite a bit more to have an RN on staff. All States have a required amount of clinical hours to be performed before they can apply and take the State Boards for State Licensing. School nurses are there just to help though. If something is wrong with your son I would rely on your instincts and your doc. Not the school. No one knows your son like you do. If you are concerned, call the school, see what license she holds.

Our school nurse is a RN BUT she is hardly ever there!! She is the nurse for several different schools and they have an aide sit in her area!!!So you might be talking to an aide!! Might want to check thatout!!!

well, why don't you ask HER. not the internet surfers. don't be a stupid mother. seriously, i don't really think that this is a best answer, but still, i'm just telling you that you should ask her or maybe ask a professional like a doctor, or... something. but whatever. it's your issue. :) good luck! by the way, i'm not mean. just brutally honest.
