What jobs lie within a nurses education?

im planning on a major in nursing...but what other oppertunities are there within that field?

When you have successfully completed nursing school and passed the NCLEX exam, you have many opportunities before you.

You may want to seek a residency at a prestigious hospital or work at a clinic that cares for the disadvantaged.

Type of work:
Emergency, Oncology, Pediatrics, OB, Mental Health, Medical/Surgical, etc

Then within those areas, are more specialized needs such as respiratory, neonatal,

There are traveling nurse positions

You may also choose to continue your education and gain a masters degree to further enhance your marketability. Once you have a masters you can be an Nurse Practitioner, Teacher in a nursing program, etc.

some super markets employ diabetic nurses .Safeway and save On Foods in Canada..

there are tons of opportunities in nursing. Here are just a few to keep in mind.

1.Pediatric- (nursing for kids.)
2.Respitory nurse-(deals with lungs in a variety of ways.people going under anistesia, people who have trachs.people who have any variety of breathing problems,etc...However this particular field is not for someone who is squemish about lots of saliva,bile,mucus,etc...)
3.Surgical nurse(Deals with pre and post op patients)
4.Geriatric nursing-(caring for the elderly)
5.Hospice nurse-(helping and caring for those who are terminal in a very patient driven atmosphere ie..helping them die with dignity.)These are just a few.there are lots of other types of nursing.Good Luck! Dawn P.
