My wife wants to start nursing. Is there jobs she can take on, without having any further education?

She is planning on going back to school, but would like to get a head start by getting some on the job training. Can anyone suggest anything?

CNA

being a nursing assistant would do

She can work as a nurse's aid without any education other than training provided by the facility where she becomes employed. She should look for such jobs at hospitals and nursing homes.

Some hospice groups hire/use people who aren't nurses as companions for the sick. That is a step toward nursing, and would allow her to get training and education. I don't know who to call or email about that.

Certified Nurses Aide

Yes there is plenty of jobs she can do without having any futher education but if it is nursing your wife wants to do let her and incourage her to do her best .

She should find the local chapter of " Area agency on aging" They will train her as a "personal Care Aide" for free and pay her to work for them. Then she can go on to a 1-2 month Nurses aid training. Both of these are good start and good experience and low to no cost. It's also a good way to be sure she wants to be a Nurse before going through Cpl of yrs. schooling.

She can find a Nursing Home Facility that offers a Nursing Coarse Program after you have been there for so long. They will put you through Nursing school at there exspence, as long as you work for them for the remaining two years or however they work it. I went throught the program in my county. I was an Aid for two years. Went throught the 2 uear coarse, signed an agreement to work for the facility for another two years, but after that I could have gone anywhere I wished, I just love where I am and I have decided to stay. What is Six years for basicly free education?
