If i want to become a nursing assistant can i take loan for education? |
If i want to become a nursing assistant can i take loan for education? You shouldnt need an education loan for CNA classes, community colleges usually offer it for one quarter/semester for like 6 or 8 credits plus books. If you research a bit some hospitals will allow you to take the coursework for free or "free" with the agreement to work there after. I took my CNA classes at a local Rehab hospital and didn't pay for them and they hired me after I completed them I worked there for a while before moving to a bigger medical center with more pay. Call a few colleges in your area or contact Human Rescorces for some hospitals and ask them for some references. If it comes down to it and you cant afford the community college tuition and books, which can add up a bit, go for a community or government grant or a scholarship from somewhere rather than a loan, taking out education loans for something like EMT training or CNA classes can sometimes adversly effect your loan status later on should you choose to go back for an RN or something else requiring more training (I found this out the hard way). Most community colleges have a scholarship program based on need, but you have to ask, they don't advertise them. Good Luck to you!!!! You don't need a loan to become a nursing assistant. They have classes at local colleges for it and also sometimes at nursing homes. It does not take long to go through the training. It depends on where you are going to school. If you go to a nursing home some of them will put you through the classes there and offer you a job and you won't have to pay for it. If you don't want to work there just say you are and after the classes quit...lol It worked for me. I'm not trying to say anything rude about being a nurse's assistant because they work hard and are important but why not take out a loan to become a nurse? |
