Can i double major in nursing and elementary education? |
so is it better to get my degree in nursing then after that get the degree in education? No. You would be best to get the BSN first and then go for a second degree BSE in Elementary Ed. immediately. Both of these degrees are very specific in course sequence and both are full time majors. You cannot student teach your junior year full time and at the same time be in hospital clinicals full time. The general education courses for a nursing degree will more than fulfill, actually go beyond the general education courses for an education degree. You should be able to have both degrees in 6 years of full time study. Not a good combination, try nursing and pharmacy! I am sure you can and in fact it would be great if you became a school nurse. The pay isn't as good but schools desperately need nurses! Probably not as stressful as the hospital floor either. No. You will get a hard time to cope-up on your lessons. You will also be stressed. Remember that stress makes you old. |

No it is never too late to learn something new! We have SUCH a shortage of Nurses in this country that every little bit helps. You could get your LPN inside of 1 year and your RN in 2 with dilig... I suggest that you continue your double major until you become over-burdened. That time may not come, so you may be able to graduate at the college level with a double major, and then concentrate ... A LPN makes a lot more and has a lot more responsibilities. It takes a year education after prerequisites are met. A nursing assistant in Fort Wayne Ind. makes 8-10 an hour and does the grunt work.... I think you should apply for teaching positions out of state. I'm sure there is a state you have always wanted to live in, give it a try! You should at least try being a teacher for a year ... Try this link. Nursing and Midwifery Council and Royal College of Nurses ...community college..u can get LPN..usually 10-15 months...can then work or transfer to associates program to be ASN..usually 1 more year..If you start out asso. 2 years.. BSN is 4 years..from there ... It's "vocational". You'd have to call the school to ask them about their program. The community college might be more likely to offer an associates degree while the LPN/LVN ... |
