1. Bachelor of Business. Extra college classes to certify to teach.
2. I left retail. I love kids and I now am on the same schedule as my children. No more nights, weekends etc trying to find child care.
3. Most: having kids who think they are dumb realize that they are smarter than they think. Least: grading papers.
4. Not Sure. It changes each year depending on the kids.
5. Not Yet
6. In most cases it works. I have one that is mainstreamed this year that is making it difficult. He is adhd and cannot sit still. He is very smart, when he wants to do the work.
7. Could be better.
8. I am glad I am not in one but they work when needed.
9. They are needed.
10. Depends on the students,
11. We have a public clinic on site but are one of the few.
12. Yes
13. No to HIV/Aids (at least I was not aware if I did) Yes to the rest. You just have to make sure the child knows you care and not to call attention to his/her situation. They can still be normal kids in school.
14. Good Luck. The first year is the hardest. Make sure you become friends with a veteran teacher who is willing to be a mentor. My assigned mentor did not help, but I found one on my own.
15. Don't remember
16. Don't get me started.

Good Luck, Teaching can be very rewarding but it does have a lot of challenges.
