Tequila, Antique whiskey?

I have a bottle of 1945 tequila, unopened and in almost flawless condition. This bottle was given to a nurse I know as a going away present at the end of WWII,before coming back to the states.,from other nurses she worked with. The writing on the bottle label is in Spanish, which I cannot read.Labels on the bottle are almost perfect, with very minor peeling in one corner.I was just wondering if anyone knows if this is worth anything,as an antique or collectable? Or should I get brave and open the bottle and take a Chug.Any information would be helpful.
thanks Ed

It's hard to say the value of your bottle of tequila. As to the flavor, it would depend on many factors, most alchohol of even moderate quality will age and mellow well. If it was absolutely low class to begin with-it may not be any good. Try and find an expert, they will be able to tell you.

Good Liquior you mention;...I would try watching a public tv station or make a inquiry at your local major newspaper like the LA Times, etc>>the objective would to check WHEN THE NEXT TIME the Antqiues Road Show come to town...go there in person. When your turn come up to speak to a expert;Someone ,knowlegble about liquiors, should be able to help determine its value. Good Luck!!

If nothing else, it's a great novelty with a good story attached. Even if you decide to taste it, then hate it and toss it, I'd keep the bottle. If it has the words "anejo" or "reposado" anywhere on the label, you've got a fair chance that it might be something that could have aged nicely. Otherwise, it's iffy.

It very well may be collectible. I would not open. What is the name on the label(?)
