Pregnancy Support Center...... ISSUES !!!!!!!?

Anyone else ever gone to the Pregnancy Support Center and had problems with patient confidentiallity ? Or with a NURSE sharing information from an ultrasound that should really be discussed with by a MD? Just curious. Also if anyone has experience with them telling you something about your pregnancy that was totally false? Like a negative pregnancy test and you were pregnant or no baby in your uterus and there really was one ........................................

It's against the law for medical professionals to give your info to anyone without your consent. You should contact her superior and let them now.

I had some issues at the military hospital where my first two children were born.

I was told that my son's growth was restricted and my amniotic fluid was low and so they did an induction and then a c-section which I look back and see now was totally uneccessary. Both statements were wrong - my baby was a normal weight at birth and healthy, and my fluid was constantly replenishing itself.

Also, at the birth of my daughter (2nd child) I was infuriated when a nurse approached me and ask if I would be interested in scheduling a tubal!

The nerve! She assumed just because I had my "perfect American family" of 1 boy and 1 girl that I was going to get my tubes tied.

I think that medical personnel should leave decisions of family size up to the family. It was NONE of her business.

Third issue - I was told that I MUST get on birth control right away after the birth of my baby since breastfeeding was not a reliable method. Obviously, this ignorant nurse was not aware of ecological breastfeeding which in studies has proven to delay ovulation for 18 months or more.

Additionally, she knew nothing about NFP (Natural Family Planning) which is the method my husband and I had chosen to use for a little while.

To be lectured about birth control from a nurse who obviously was ignorant of several recognized methods was hard to stomach.

well you see ..the nurse does tend to speak to you as they do the ultrasound so it might be they are just reporting to you as they find stuff ..and as a nurse i have been trained there is nothing called confidential between a nurse and doctor that a pt is not allowed to be told unless the pt then goes out and uses the info to harm themselves or someone esle .....i dont think a nurse would lie to you ..it might be they really cant see anything and they are just telling you so you know and then they get the doc to come and have a look ....would you rather you were lying there and the nurse just got up and had a look of horror on her face ...toild you nothing and left the room and brought a doc ...i bet youd be annoyed then as well
