I'm 215 pounds and nursing my son, 7 months. I've changed my diet and exercising but I'm still fat. Help |
This is my fourth child but I'm only 25. All of this weight is depressing. I'm normally 155-165 pounds. I still take my prenatal vitamins and I've only begun the calorie cutting since my son has started to eat other foods, but I haven't lost one pound or one inch. I'm at the gym for an hour 3 times a week. If some one has information for nursing mothers who would like to lose weight, please leave some helpful answers. The more kids you have the harder it gets to lose the weight. The prenatal vitamins as well aren't helping. I continued to take them while I breastfed, but I heard they cause you to not lose weight. The best bet is to wait until you're done nursing. That is when you will be able to get a better control on your body without lowering your milk supply. How long have you been trying? It's only healthy/normal to lose 1-3 lbs a week. So it does take a long time. well listen, i dont know whats going on. but i'll tell you that its a fact htat overweight people who exercise are healthier than thin people who don't. it will probalby just take a while for you build muslce and burn fat more efficiently. dont despaire. being 215 pounds isnt the end of the world. i shoudl know, i used to weigh 235~! don't be so hard on yourself!..it takes time..alot of time to loose weight..you are on the right track to your goals.. nursing burns 500 calories per day, so that actually *helps* you, but remember that it's calories in/calories burned... I used to weigh 350 pouds, I'm 210 now. The best way to lose is to eat six small meals a day(healthy meals) You burn calories when you eat and six times a day is how i lost. Also dont eat after six and count your ratio of protein carbs and fat. You have to really get into it and be determined get some books on calorie counting. All the luck to you email any time. Pay special attention to how quickly you swallow your food, often times we inhale our food and it takes our bodies a VERY long time to digest it when not small. CHEW CHEW CHEW! I lost 35 pounds in 3 months after paying more attention to that, and also watch portions. Weight Watchers has meals that taste incredible! and they are same price as anything else you would make. I drank a lot of water and had cheese cubes between lunch and dinner and apples. keep at it. It sounds like you're on the right track, just take the steps needed to cut down calorie intake WEIGHT WATCHERS IS A GOOD PROGRAM FOR YOU. THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE SUPPORT THAT YOU NEED. YOU SHOULD LOSE ONLY 2 LBS. A WEEK IF YOU LOSE ALOT MORE THEN IT'S JUST GOING TO COME BACK TO YOU. |
