Is it hard to get a direct commission for nursing into the Air Force?

Hey everyone! I am a nursing student who is graduating this year...yeah!..I was wondering how hard it was to be accepted into OTS for COT? I will be putting my application in sometime early spring...any info or just plain military nursing advice is helpful! Thanks!

I have an okay GPA it's a 3.2...not sure if it's high enough, I know the application says a 3.0 is what is the min. I am the Treasurer of my senior class and teh ativites director for our entire SNA group (Student Nurses Association) which consistes of over 300 members...so I believe I have leadership qualities...will they take that into account? My father was 23 years enlisted...and I have lived civilian life for 5 years now..and it's not for me!

Probably but check with your local recruiter.

Yes

No, you should not have a hard time, but you must have at least a BSN!

points

Not difficult at all. Get hold of a recruiter and tell him about your inttentions. however my advicd is that you check with the Navy first, they are likely to offer you a better deal and you by far will have a much better future with them as well.

Ring their Nursing department and ask, they will point you in the right direction/send you information/application forms. Thats what I did.
