Anyone know who I can contact and report someone at my moms job?

My mom works in a nursing home we live in a small town citrus county and my mom tried to call out the other day because she was sick and her boss told her if you call out today you work tomorrow on what was suppose to be her day off my mom went to work instead everyone is sick where she works the patients have upper respiratory infections well my mother goes to the doctor today because she still doesn't feel well the doctor gave her a shot and a note to not work my mother brings it into her boss, boss tells her she has no one to work my mom said about so and so she said hold on calls this person she's in miami and the other worker can't come in her elbows hurt and the other one is sick, now one of her workers is always going on vactation the boss caters there buddy buddy. Who can my mother report this lady on??? There is a higher boss but they never do anything, and my mother can't change jobs no one will pay her the same amount she gets or give her the same hours. Any help?

Whenever my mother needs to call out her boss acts as tho she calls out all the time when my mother wants to take her vacation time this boss gives her a hard time about things, just wondering who we can report to because I actually wanna go to this lady and kick her *** for her but thats my mother and father livelyhood

She can report it to anyone that will listen, however her boss has not done anything illegal based on the story you posted.

If your mother can't find a new job, OR report her boss to a higher up manager, she needs to suck it up. If she chooses to stay in that working enviornment, she needs to live with that decision.

Your moms boss has done nothing illeagal. You can report it to somone higher up than your moms boss.

Sometimes adults have to work when they are sick. It's the nature of our society. It would be great if everything could revolve around our needs, but that doesn't happen. Look at all of the American Idol singers who are working fourteen hours per day and have been sick for several weeks with ailments similar to and worse than your mother's.

She has two choices which are to work under the conditions she is currently working under or find a different job with conditions that better suit her.

A lot of people get the most education they can get because then they have more options in the work world. Those who don't go on for advanced training often have to submit to poorer working conditions. You can learn a lesson from this and make sure you do well in school. You could become a lawyer dealing with worker's rights.

kristina, calm down girl! reading your question made my heart rate faster....
I agree with the person who said that according to what you posted there is nothing illegal about her boss鈥?conduct. Investigate your employment state laws.
She can also find out with the Department of Labor if there is anything she can do.
The job market is very competitive nowadays and everyone of us who work has to put up with certain things from time to time, of course without taking any abuse
