Is being a CRNA a boring job? |
I have shadowed an MDA, an anesthesiologist, multiple times and it seems that they do the exact same thing over and over again. I was an ER nurse. I can't tell you what CRNA's feel about their job, but I can tell you that I absolutely loved the years I spent in the ER. It is a rewarding career. Yes, many times I left feeling entirely wiped out, but there are still special memories of those we helped, and even those that we helped family members say goodbye to. You will never be bored in the ER. Good luck in choosing your career. It depends on if you are interested in anesthesia. But, every case it diffrent from the other cases. The CRNA must use diffrent amounts of medications for diffrent patients. Also, the CRNA must be able to react quickly to a situation if for example the patients blood pressure decreases, or the patient goes into cardiac arrest. So while there isn't always going to be action in the OR like in the ER, when there is its serious. |
