Purple/black foot?? Dr's not doing their job?? |
My mother's foot is turning purple and almost black.. It's been that way for maybe over amonth now, and she's been to the Dr about it, but they keep dragging *** to get back to her with answers.. She did finally call and ask what she should be doing or if there was anything special that she should look out for (The Dr gave her a test then scheduled her to come back at the end of next month, what an asshole!!) Anyway, the nurse asked if her foot was still purple, ofcourse it was, it's not going to go away overnight!! So they told her to come in, ran some more tests then told her to come in the following week for the results. Oh but the Dr isn't there and there's no way the nurses can release the test results to her!! Can you believe that!! So my question is, has anyone else experienced this before, and don't you think they should... oh, I don't know be a little concerned, or at least do their job!! Sorry, I'm a little angry and frustrated.. So anything would be helpful.. My mom has had so many medical problems, everyone's amazed that she's still alive.. I would love to talk to that jerk myself and take her to all her appts but we are states away from eachother.. :( :( :( If I were you, and it were my mother, I'd take her to the ER at the hospital. There might be somewhat of a wait, but well worth it. They would be able to tell you for sure and wouldn't pussy foot around the truth. Emergency room stat! See a different doctor. Get to an urgent care clinic ASAP or the emergency room. It could a bruise, but that wouldn't take up the entire foot. THIS IS A SURE SIGN OF POOR CIRCULATION. IS YOUR MOTHER A DIABETIC? IF YOU ARE NOT SURE HAVE HER CHECKED IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT WAIT ANOTHER MONTH ON THAT FOOT. BY THEN IT MAY HAVE TO COME OFF. PLEASE GO TO ANOTHER MD ASAP AND DEAL WITH THIS. GOOD LUCK!! Take her to the emergancy room ASAP!!!!!! My grandmother's foot did the same thing. It was a major blockage of an artery and she lost her toes because the doctor waited too long. Take her to the emergency room and let them take care of it for her.. The doctor you have don't seem to be doing any good or even care about your mother. change doctors.. best to go to emergency room before she loses her foot to gangreen or something horrible.. you need to get her to another doctor or the ER right away, a purple or black foot is an indication of poor circulation, by chance is your mom diabetic? If it was my mom I'd have her to the ER by now. good luck. Your Mom wont be alive much longer if her black, purple foot is dying, she may have circulaiton problems from diabetes and is losing her foot, if the medical people wont do something fast, she may loose her foot, or leg, or life. Either go and visit you mom and take her to a new dr and get something done or get someone who lives there near her to be more pro active in her getting better help. Do not, just stay where you are and ask a bunch of strangers what you should do. Get up off of your bum and go help your mother. Geeeze, the questions people ask on here are so basic, you already know the answer, you are just trying to find an easy way out, well there isnt. I agree with some of the other posts. Myboyfriend's toes get black but mostly when he is in cold environments and the doctors have said it was due to poor circulation. try getting an appointment with a Vascular surgeon to test for blood flow, poor circulation. that is what it sounds like to me. a lot of times you can make the appointment as a walk in and pay a fee, such as $40 in our area in central ohio, and get the dopplar study done on your own without doctor referral. it sounds as if she needs treatment now not in one month. check around in her area at the Vascular labs and see if they do that in your area and get her in for diagnosis. if she is diabetic try and endocrinologist to jump start things. i know of a pretty good website for information regarding foot conditions, myfootshop.com. but it sounds like she needs some immediate care. if you get a chance search around the site you may find it helpful. |
