Question re: a certain job w/ disabled persons?

I work in a Dr's office and often have disabled (mentally/physically) persons come in with their "helpers". Are those home health care nurses or what??? I think for the elderly they are, but how can you go about getting a job caring for mentally disabled persons????

You may contact the ARC (I am not sure what this stands for; you may Yahoo it), but there is one in each state or region, and they help mentally challenged persons. I have a relative who is one of these people, and his disability is invisible; however, he does need direction to stay on task.

Most people who work with the mentally challenged are Group Home Aides. Look in the phone book under group homes, or call a social services agency ..... they can give you a list of local group home agencies.
